I am a working mom, living in the woods and dabble in all sorts of craft/growing projects. I do strawbale gardening as well as standard gardening. I typically have cucumbers, zucchini and squash, tomatoes and even strawberries! When the deer overtake my gardens, (and boy do they!) I like make things with my hands. Latest obsession is crochet hats. I feel that it is important to show our children where things come from and how to make things with their hands.
Hats are found in nearly all cultures and in as many shapes as we can imagine. I get my inspiration from my daughter, my surroundings and by request! I make hats without a pattern, just start crocheting, using colors and yarns that please me. Each hat is unique, I try to never make exactly the same hat twice. I might make some similar but I want everyone to have a one of a kind piece! I am more than happy to create something special for you with a custom order. (Sometimes people send me pictures of something to recreate, I can to that too!) I prefer natural fibers and use some hand spun Arkansas wool. (This is, by merit, more expensive, so you’ll note the increase in pricing with these.) Styles vary as well, some are more involved and therefore cost more.
Thank you for looking.
